And we’re off and running…
Its week one of Maple Season here at Harding Hill Farm - and we're as ready as we're going to be! It feels like a more traditional winter this year with a steady snow cover and some cold temperatures - it warmed up enough to check lines and collect sap on 2/26-2/28 before the temperatures plummeted again. We got enough to have our first boil, just in time for Tyler Webb's birthday on Sunday, March 1st. We sweetened the pans, worked out the kinks in our system, and made around 10 gallons of a lovely, buttery Amber Rich syrup. It was nice to enjoy a quiet day on our first boil with just family and a few friends stopping in. Unlike last year - when we had a monster first boil on a new evaporator with 50+ people celebrating Tyler’s birthday. Still can’t believe we pulled that off!
The tap count this year is about 6,600 in our usual three locations of Newport, Lempster & Wilmot. Plus we've got the same great team as last year running the woods, hauling sap and making things happen at the sugarhouse. The forecast is warming up today and we expect a very busy week ahead.
For fans of our grass fed beef - we've got a fully restocked freezer ready to go for opening weekend. You can look through our online availability and price list now. If you want to assure your favorites - email us a preorder so we can get it ready for you!
The Sugarhouse at Harding Hill - March 1, 2026
Maple inventory is getting low as we approach the season, so be patient if you don't see your favorite size and grade available on the website. The plan is to open every weekend in March and into April if the weather allows. Our biggest event is during NH Maple Weekend, March 21 & 22, when we host a pancake breakfast and BBQ lunch with Scott Brothers for the fourth year in a row. We can't wait to celebrate all things maple with you. Keep an eye on socials, website and our blog for all the latest as we work through an always exciting time of year. Reach out with any questions or concerns. We hope to see you soon!
