2026 Maple Season Week Three

This may have been our biggest sap run ever…

It's been a wild week in the world of maple production AND we are preparing for an epic Maple Weekend Celebration! Join us for our biggest sugarhouse event - NH Maple Weekend, March 21 & 22, for a pancake breakfast and BBQ lunch with the talented Scott Brothers. Links provided below & we highly recommend you pre-purchase tickets for Saturday 3/21 to assure a meal and avoid the line! Timeslots are available in 1-hr increments between 8am and 2pm. A la carte items will be available (including an HHF brisket lunch special), and Sunday will not have pre-sold tickets but get there early (serving at 10am) because we have a history of selling out.

Now here is an update on a wild sap run… We may have had our biggest run ever. The storm that blew through Sunday night through Tuesday night brought wind/rain/sleet and a whole lot of sap. In about 48 hours, we collected 25,000 gallons of sap from 6,600 taps in three locations. Our truck drivers were busy! That is over a third of our volume this season in just two days time. We had two days of late night/early morning boils to yield 475 gallons of syrup. That brings our season total up to 1,265 gallons of maple syrup. We're now just over one third of the way toward our goal. The other interesting part of this sap run was the maple syrup grade progression throughout the storm. We started at an Amber Rich moved to a Dark Robust then came back to nearly a Golden, but not quite. Keep in mind that the temperatures reached 34 degrees overnight Sunday to mid-40s on Monday (with an amazing sap run in the rain) to near 50s at 3am Tuesday morning. On Tuesday, the temperatures plummeted back down to 28 by nightfall. We then spent a cold night processing the last of the sap and cleaning pans into midnight.

Our shelves are now fully stocked with Amber Rich and Dark Robust! Open Sugarhouse hours are 8am till 4:30pm on Saturday and 10am till 4:30pm on Sunday. Interested in a Group Tour? Contact us! We've been thrilled to welcome group visits this season including kids from Bradford and Sunapee elementary schools, folks from Woodcrest Village Assisted Living, and an Ausbon Sargent Land Preservation Trust sponsored hike/sugarhouse visit.
